Labrador coats go through a lot with the elements. Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Medicated Shampoo is part of our seasonal reset. This product cleanses away buildup and supports skin and coat health with helpful ingredients.
Why We Use This Medicated Shampoo
Deep-Cleans Without Stripping the Coat
This shampoo uses gentle exfoliants like salicylic acid and natural sulfur compounds to help remove dead skin cells, product residue, and environmental gunk.
Supports Skin Barrier Health
The formula contains micronized sulfur, which has antimicrobial properties and supports sebaceous gland health. It also has coal tar, which has long been used in veterinary dermatology to normalize skin cell turnover. These ingredients can help balance oil production and prep the skin for regrowth and conditioning.
pH-Balanced for Canine Skin
This shampoo is formulated specifically for dogs’ more alkaline skin (typically 6.2–7.4 pH), which makes it safer and more effective than repurposing human or baby shampoo. It won’t dry out the coat or cause imbalance in the undercoat—ideal for Labradors in seasonal-coat transition.
Trusted for Coat Recovery & Show Prep
We use this as part of our early show season prep, especially for dogs recovering from whelping or regrowing coat post-shedding. It lays the foundation for a clean, healthy, show-ready appearance.
Our Tips
• Massage in gently and let sit for 10 minutes before rinsing for best results.
• Follow up with a light conditioning rinse to soften coat texture.
• Use warm—not hot—water and dry thoroughly in cold weather.
• Spot clean muddy areas between full baths using this shampoo diluted 1:5.
How It Helps You & Your Labrador
It’s not flashy or fragrant—but it works. For Labradors who live hard, this shampoo is a cornerstone of our grooming routine, seasonally and all year round.
